Recent Changes

1. I hope that I will be able to us this iPad in conjunction with my Smart Board in order to share common background information by using videos, books, and many apps. Having everyone on the same page with visuals to refer back to when we are having a discussion.
2. As the iPad becomes more user friendly to me I can see myself using this more and more. My teenager has already found it very handy and I have had to go looking for it. Professionally, I think that I will be able to use this to take notes, work on IEPs and track things that are now in multiple notebooks.
3. I have figured out that we all have much to share and much to learn from each other. I look forward to exploring the wikis that were done for this class and maybe even some of the other. I never knew there was so much information and apps available for free and so easy to use.
4. My presentation went better than I thought it would but not as well as I would have liked. Technology just seems to often be a second language for me and I truly struggle to grasp it. I have enjoyed learning from others and trying things out where help was available.

14. Smiley Sight Words
This is a great looking sight word app. which helps students build their sight words in order to increase their comprehension, self-esteem, and reading fluency. There are over 1,500 words included that cover much of the vocabulary in early reading material.

This is for fun but can also be used in class. My husband is very good with naming songs on the first couple of notes so we can use it to check his skills.

Some of the math teachers use the Sudoko game as extra credit so I have been able to show them that the game is always solvable and that by backing up or erasing they can see where they have made a mistake.

Free gameThis app is also for my entertainment but I have found that I use as a relaxation device butit is also use to helpuseful for helping my students learnunderstand how to do the game works. Some of the math teachers use the Sudoko game as extra credit assignments for their regular education math classes. The app lets me program my own game in andso I have been able to show the possible numbersthem that fit into each space, thus allowing the students to see what I am trying to say when I "thinking" about what numbers fit. They also can back up to a point where a mistakegame is made soalways solvable and that by backing up or erasing they can see that each one does actually work.where they have made a mistake.
